Dear friends and neighbors,
After watching the legislature’s failure once again to make any real progress
toward solving the major problems in our state -- while continuing their
relentless drive toward fiscal disaster -- I am disgusted along with you
and the rest of the people of Washington. This legislature’s solution to every
problem has been more government control, more regulation, and higher taxes and
fees, rather than the free market solutions that would actually work. Our
infrastructure continues to crumble, our schools are going broke, housing and
health care are increasingly unaffordable, and even with huge majorities in both
the House and the Senate, the legislature accomplished little except to make the government
bigger and more expensive. They need to be replaced. And we need to start
right here in the 45th District.
That is why I’m running to return to the legislature as your state representative.
We need a government that protects our lives, liberty, and property, not one that tries to take those from us.
We need a government that respects us as adults, not a
“nanny state”. We know better how to live our lives and spend our money than any bureaucrat or politician in Olympia.
We need a government that provides the essential infrastructure and services we need, as efficiently and responsibly as possible, and is not paralyzed by indecision.
We need a government that is open, transparent, and accountable to the people, and that remembers Article 1, Section 1 of our state constitution,
which says:
All political power is inherent in the people, and governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, and are established to protect and maintain individual rights.
Today, our state government fails at all of these. The incumbent had his chance and did nothing to
change things. When I return to Olympia, I will take the lead implementing the
new direction you and the rest of the people of the 45th
District demand.
